Our REN Series Boxes have a range of processing solutions, single or multiple, workstation or server, EPU or VPX in the fully sealed enclosure. Blank removable IO plates allow for connector and pin out configuration exactly to your requirements.

The smallest system with a huge range of IO options way more than standard COTS. We can supply with;
a). Eagle 6 core i9 CPU.
c). Owl 4 core Apollo Lake ATOM.
d). Harrier 4 core Apollo Lake ATOM.
Each of the above cards has lots of base card IO, Serial/ USB/ Ethernet/ ADC / DIO/ Multiple Display PORT. We can add single or dual miniPCIe cards to gain multiple Serial/ 10GE/ ADC/ DAC/ 1553/ 429/ Wi-Fi/ LTE.
Now the important point is that the CUSTOMER chooses how to connector and cable the IO they require. We do have a standard set of Fischer MiniMAX connectors/ cables, but they are top shelf, and customers are free to organise this themselves. There is a standard blank removable I/O plate, take it off, cut your holes, fit the connectors you want and put it back. If you mess it up, or you want to change later, just buy a new I/O plate. If you think about it, the above makes this box very easy to upgrade.
The REN 19-14 STD is a 19-inch rack mounting 2U fully sealed server/workstation and offers a versatility and utility to the design engineer that we honestly don’t think you can get anywhere else, without building it yourself. They can take combinations of rugged conduction cooled boards and provides a new way of looking at industrial or military systems development and deployment.
Importantly it has 4 removable IO Plates that can be used to host any connectors that the customer wishes to use, each plate has 35 x 160 mm usable area. An IO plate can be removed, and special M.2 dog box fitted hosting 4 x removable M.2 cards.
The lid is fitted for, but not with, 6 x Vicor + Filter PSU sites which interchange as SSD sites.
REN 19-14 VPX
The REN 19-14 VPX is a 2U, 19 inch rack mounting form factor that can host 3U & 6U VPX cards. The beauty of this solution is that you don’t have a backplane, we use 1 slot backplanes and connect with Meritec cables (See Unironix’s VPX FlatPAK). This gives customers the ability to utilise VPX with out all the costly backplane infrastructure, and is ideal where only 2U space is available.

Designed for ground Vehicles the REN 4 slot VPX chassis is a versatile solution that customers can use to Design / Develop and Deploy their VPX systems up to TRL 4 or 5. The COTS chassis is effectively a PROJECT BOX for VPX systems and it comes in two parts;
1) Inner 4 Slot card rack.
2) Outer Case
A single slot VPX card carrier, it can be supplied for 3U and 6U VPX cards. It uses 1-slot VPX backplanes in the SOSA format along with VITA 62 PSU backplanes to provide a modular way of utilising VPX cards.
Important note: The REN VPX FlatPAK is designed to dissipate heat quickly into its host structure. It will not cool a VPX card on its own.
